Hosted Services
If you’re considering migrating to a datacentre, you’ll be aware of just how complicated the process is. Datacentre migration requires thorough planning and execution. Benefits of moving to a purpose built facility include security, resilience, flexibility and scalability. However, the actual move can cause major disruption to your business. Servium and our strategic partner can help to reduce that disruption. Our comprehensive technical and practical experience means that we will ensure the move runs smoothly.
Servium and our strategic partner can do this by assessing your business's mission critical requirements and devising a continuity plan covering the change over. This way, risk and the possibility of downtime are minimised.
An audit of the current infrastructure is an important part of the migration process, creating the opportunity to virtualise and consolidate where possible. This, in turn, reduces server sprawl and lowers total cost of ownership (TCO).
Servium's project team can provide all the logistical planning and support required for the physical move and will document a process for decommissioning outdated hardware.
Cloud Back Up
While small businesses and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) may not have large-scale back up requirements, this doesn’t make backing up data from unforeseen IT disasters any less vital. More than two thirds of small businesses that suffer a major data loss go out of business within a year. It's clear that every business should have continuity plans in place to recover from unexpected downtime and data loss. Yet because only the largest companies tend to have a dedicated IT department, many SMEs lack the time and resources to backup their data effectively, relying on scheduled backups throughout the day. While scheduled backups might mitigate a disastrous data loss, they will not protect any information created or changed since the latest backup. This can be particularly devastating for companies whose data changes frequently.
Servium's Cloud Backup is designed for small to medium businesses who wish to be able to back up and restore individual or multiple files. Server Backup uses a server based software agent to encrypt, compress and back up changes in data and system state in real time over your existing Internet connection to our resilient storage infrastructure.
Our Java based software client will run on most systems, including Windows, Linux and Apple Mac. For businesses whose data changes frequently there is now no need to schedule backups – our Continuous Data Protection (CDP) technology backs up changes as they occur, minimising data loss and drastically improving RPO (Recovery Point Objective).
Because your data is encrypted it can only be read by you, and because we only backup changes, backups only take a short time. And because your data is compressed, you will actually require less space on our system than yours - typically we achieve a compression ratio of 2:1 but this is dependent on the type of data stored.
Data restore is a simple point & click operation via the intuitive client interface.
Our simple pricing model ensures you only pay for the data you store on our systems.
Cloud Server DR
When a central server fails, the impact on the operations of a business is immediate and lasts until normal service resumes. Instantly, access to vital data is lost, together with business critical software applications. Such is our modern day reliance on I.T. that server failure can lead to a total loss of productivity, and every second of downtime can be counted in lost revenue. Meanwhile, the damage done to a business’s reputation is potentially more costly even than lost earnings.
Servium's Cloud Server DR ensures that business-critical systems are brought back online in the shortest time possible, minimising the impact of downtime to the business.
Server Failover is designed for organisations managing Small Office, Home Office (SOHO) and Remote Office, Branch Office (ROBO) locations from one or more central servers. While deploying servers in a central location creates a single point of access to applications and data for all users, it also creates a single point of failure. In the event of a server failure, business-critical data and software needs to be restored as quickly as possible.
Cloud Infrastructure DR
Servium's Cloud Infrastructure DR protects medium to larger businesses from downtime and loss of earnings. The larger the organisation, the bigger and more complex the IT infrastructure tends to be. While a small business might run happily on a single server, larger companies can have several departments, branches or offices, each with a highly complicated network relying on a multitude of servers, systems, applications and data. Medium to large businesses need to ensure that they fully protect against unplanned downtime across different departments, locations and operations. Unavailability of business-critical infrastructure can have a crippling effect on companies, especially when multiple offices depend on a centralised infrastructure based in a single location.
Because our cloud infrastructure comprises multiple data centres, which are designed to failover to each other in the event of failure, this keeps critical business processes running even if one of our sites goes offline. That's the beauty of computing in the cloud - decentralisation of data removes the risk of a single fault bringing an organisation to a standstill.
In the event of unplanned downtime our Infrastructure DR enables complex systems to be brought back online as quickly as possible and in a co-ordinated fashion.
Our DR system is ideal for medium to larger businesses with a centralised Storage Area Network (SAN) or existing VMware ESX server farms.
